Provider Directory Verification

NCCI Provider Directory Verification visits provider locations to confirm address, practice name and operating status match the health plan's directory.

Who Needs This

Commercial and Medicare Advantage health plans, networks, credentialing organizations and payers.

How It Works

  1. The plan sends a list of providers and addresses.
  2. A professional representative visits each location.
  3. Operating status, signage, suite or address discrepancies and whether the practice appears active are recorded.
  4. Photos and GEO date-time stamped evidence are provided.
  5. The plan receives a Verification Report to update its directory or investigate.

What You Receive

A location-level report that shows what was found, with photos, so the plan can correct or remove inaccurate listings.

What NCCI does not do

NCCI verifies locations. It does not rule on credentialing or network participation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are ghost networks?

Closed locations, wrong addresses, inactive practices, and data that do not match.

Can this be done on a recurring schedule?
