Goals of a Field Call

The goal of a field call is to make the collector’s job easier in determining the borrower’s intentions in reference to satisfying a delinquent account. The results of a field call will help the collector determine which direction to continue with their collection efforts. The goals of a field call include one or more of the following results:

  • To interview and update demographic information from a borrower, such as POE, current contact phone numbers and reason for delinquency.
  • To re-establish a line of communication between the collector and the borrower.
  • To obtain general condition of any applicable collateral and note any possible assets.
  • To motivate the borrower to contact the lender to resolve the account status.
  • To prioritize delinquency with the borrower and motivate them to resolve the account.
